Memulihkan data di partisi hard disk yang rusak dengan software gratisan

Pengalaman Udin Ahmad : Sekitar seminggu yang lalu salah seorang teman saya telepon dan minta tolong untuk diperbaiki laptopnya yang bermasalah. Dia beritahu kalau adiknya bermain-main dengan software Partition Magic dan ditengah jalan ketika sedang menjalankan aplikasi itu langsung saja ia 'Cancel'. Jadilah sebuah masalah besar, Windowsnya tidak bisa diakses, ketika startup hanya muncul pesan 'Error loading file system'.

Sebagai informasi, laptop yang ia gunakan adalah merk Zyrex, salah satu merk lokal yang cukup terkenal.

Malam Rabu dia mengantarkan laptopnya untuk didandani dan berpesan kalau bisa tolong jangan di-format drive C: nya karena di drive itu banyak data-datanya. Ehmmm, akhirnya saya iyakan dan cuma akan melihat kondisi laptopnya saja.

Malam itu saya nyalakan laptopnya, muncul pesan 'Error loading file system'. Cari-cari cd Windows atau Ubuntu tidak ketemu, lalu saya pikir akan saya lanjutin besok aja.

Keesokan harinya (hari Rabu) saya bersiap dengan 2 buah cd Ubuntu 8.04 dan 1 buah cd Ubuntu 7.10 (64 bit), saya coba untuk booting dan menengok kondisi hard disk laptop itu dari live cd. Tapi apa daya begitu mau loading live cd ternyata nge-hang, dan anehnya lagi ketiga cd itu bernasib sama.

Apakah 3 cd itu eror semua atau memang laptopnya yang bermasalah (dvd-rw dan memorinya)?

Hari Kamis saya putuskan untuk mendownload iso Linux gparted-Live yang besarnya sekitar 96MB, karena penasaran mungkinkah Ubuntu tidak bisa loading karena pengaruh memori (dan umumnya memang begitu).

Malamnya saya coba lagi booting dengan Linux gparted-Live dan berhasil. Dengan distro ini ternyata terlihat 3 partisi yang keterangannya adalah 'Unknown file system'. Aplikasi gparted yang menjadi 'menu utama' di distro gparted-live menginfokan bahwa ketiga partisi itu tidak dikenali dikarenakan beberapa sebab, seperti: format file system tidak didukung oleh gparted, file system rusak, atau file system tidak dikenali oleh gparted.

Tugas malam itu selesai karena di awal memang saya cuma ingin menengok kondisi hard disknya saja.

Hari jumat, saya infokan ke teman tentang kondisi dari laptopnya. Saya tambahkan juga bahwa akan sulit untuk mengharapkan sistem operasi di laptopnya kembali seperti semula tanpa ada format ulang di tiap drive. Saya jelaskan juga konsekuensi dari format ulang atau pembuatan partisi bisa mengakibatkan data-data tidak bisa sama sekali diselamatkan.

Setelah cukup lama ditunggu, ia akhirnya memberitahukan silahkan saja diformat ulang atau apapun tapi dia minta tolong juga diusahakan semaksimal mungkin untuk menyelamatkan data-data yang ada di partisi C: nya.

Hari itu juga saya download distro Linux yang lain yaitu Ubuntu rescue remix untuk menambah amunisi.

Malam Sabtu, saya coba dengan Linux gparted dulu untuk menyembuhkan file systemnya yang bermasalah. Saya klik kanan di tiap drive dan pilih format dengan file systemnya sebagai NTFS. Ketiga drive saya perlakukan sama dan kemudian saya restart.

Karena teman berpesan agar nantinya diinstal Windows, maka saya booting laptopnya dengan cd Windows XP (non-original) dan tetap tiada membawa hasil, instalasi Windows XP masih menganggap tidak ada hard disk yang bisa diinstal atau hard disk itu mereka anggap rusak.


Saya restart laptopnya dan masukkan lagi cd Linux gparted. Di Linux gparted, ketiga partisi terbaca dengan baik, tidak ada masalah. Berhubung tidak ada masalah, saya lalu berpikir apakah ini karena partisi belum dihapus dan dibuat ulang? Kemudian saya lakukan itu, saya hapus partisinya dan buat tiga partisi baru.

Laptop saya restart dan booting lagi dengan menggunakan cd Windows XP tapi hasilnya tetap sama, Windows XP tidak bisa mengenali ketiga partisi baru yang saya buat.

Lumayan 'keukeuh' juga si Windows XP rupanya, dan itu sebabnya saya lebih menyukai fungsi format saat instalasi yang terdapat di Windows 98, yang lebih tangguh dibanding apa yang terdapat di Windows XP.

Daripada berkutat dengan masalah itu-itu saja, saya ambil rehat sejenak untuk me-review kemungkinan solusi yang bisa ditempuh untuk mengatasi masalah ini.

Kemudian saya coba restart lagi dan masuk ke BIOS-nya dengan menekan F2. Saya mau melihat apakah ada kemungkinan pembatasan memori sehingga membuat cd Ubuntu tidak bisa diinstal. Dan benar saja, di BIOS laptop Zyrex ini ada sebuah menu, yaitu menu Advanced yang berisikan pengaturan pembagian memori untuk sistem operasi.

Di bagian Installed O/S terdapat beberapa sistem operasi, yaitu: XP, Vista, Linux dan Other. Di bagian Embedded Shared Memory terdapat beberapa pilihan, mulai dari 64MB, 128MB dan 256MB. Dan secara default laptop ini membagi memori sebesar 64MB untuk sistem operasinya. Lalu saya ubah nilainya menjadi 256MB.

Setelah mengotak-atik BIOS, kemudian saya coba booting dengan Linux Ubuntu rescue remix, sebuah distro Ubuntu yang berisikan tool-tool untuk menyelamatkan sebuah sistem. Aha, Ubuntu rescue remix berhasil di-loading dengan tampilan berbasiskan teks (tanpa GUI).

Langsung saja saya ketik:

sudo cfdisk /dev/sda

Saya lihat belum ada partisi yang ditandai untuk dijadikan booting, saya ubah itu dan jadikan partisi C: untuk booting.

Lalu saya restart dengan memasukkan cd Windows XP SP2 dan semua partisi terbaca dengan baik. Kemudian dilanjut dengan menginstal driver dan software yang diperlukan.

Berlanjut dengan tahap yang paling menentukan, yaitu bagaimana mengembalikan data-data yang terdapat di partisi laptop yang lama. Awalnya saya memang agak pesimis karena partisi laptop yang sekarang ada merupakan hasil dari penghapusan partisi lama plus membuat ulang partisi baru. Tapi tetap saya coba dengan menggunakan dua buah software yang pernah diulas di blog ini yaitu : Undelete Plus dan Recuva. Pertama saya coba dengan Undelete Plus dan tidak berhasil sama sekali, mungkin software ini men-scan kurang dalam sehingga tidak dapat menjangkau cluster dalam hard disk yang sudah di-format. Tiba giliran software kedua, Recuva, secara default software ini pun berkemampuan sama seperti Undelete Plus tapi seandainya kita lebih teliti ada satu 'Option' tambahan yang dapat membuat software ini begitu ampuh. Klik tombol Options yang ada di menu utama Recuva, alihkan pandangan pada tab Actions dan tandai semua pilihan yang ada disana, termasuk Deep Scan (increases scan time).

Syukur alhamdulillah, sejumlah besar data-data di partisi laptop yang lama masih bisa diselamatkan dan itu berkat bantuan software-software gratis: gparted-live, ubuntu-rescue-remix dan recuva.

Jadi jika ada yang mengalami kasus seperti diatas, tidak perlu menghabiskan uang banyak untuk memulihkan kembali data-data yang hilang. Cukup gunakan software gratis.
